Verdammte Scheisse...

Thursday night wasn't the best... :(
I found out, that my laptop doesn't like ice tea as much as I do...
I spilled a whole glass right on my laptop, its only response was a blank screen...I drained it for more than 2 hours, the tea was all over everything that was inside there. It sure isn't good if you open it and you see sticky brown stuff all over the processor.
Needless to say it never started up again.
I took the laptop into the help desk where Jen works. And fortunately they were able to get the most important data off my harddrive. I had everything on there from grades, word documents, tex documents to programs that I wrote for my research. And some of the stuff I hadn't backed up yet. But I got everything back, which made yesterday a little better.
And now I already bought a new laptop, so I have a new toy to play with. Oh well, my old one was a few years old anyway, so most likely I was gonna buy a new one at the end of the summer anyway. That just had to happen a little earlier now.
I spent most of last night getting the new ready for my purposes. Pretty much everything is installed and all the crap that they put on there is uninstalled. (Seriously, who wants a 30 day trial of Norton and a 30 day trial of McAfee, one of them is enough, but I'm not gonna buy it after that anyway...and who wants AOL? especially since that actually was hard to uninstall, I still haven't gotten rid of it completely)
